Meet the owners of Daync Studio; Joshua Burgos and Amber Rivard! They teach all of the Latin dance (salsa and bachata) classes at the studio. As of December 2016 they brought on instructor, Christopher Gilbert, as the adult and kids hip-hop instructor. Christopher's integrity, energy and life-living philosophies are directly in line with DAYNC. You will leave any of our daync classes feeling uplifted and filled with positive energy; that's our mission. We want YOU do to something for yourself, either by yourself or with a friend, and take a daync class. You won't regret it!

About our salsa classes

One

This beginner level 1 class is for anyone with very little to no experience. A partner is not required. In this class you will learn not only your basic salsa steps, but also learn about the different instruments that make up a salsa band. We will train your ears to be able to hear the heart beat of a salsa song; the congas (this applies specifically to the style of salsa that we teach which is salsa On2 or also known as 'mambo').

two

This beginner level 2 class is for anyone that is familiar with mambo or salsa On2 that has a decent foundation of their On2 basic. A partner is not required to take this class.

three+

This salsa intermediate class is for anyone that is familiar with mambo/salsa On2 that has a good foundation of their On2 basic, who can dance On2 to medium-paced salsa songs. You should already be able to dance alone and with a partner the following steps:
- outside turns
- syncopated steps

- side basic
- modified basic
- cross body lead
- reverse cross body lead

about our bachata classes

one

This beginner level 1 class is for anyone with very little to no experience. A partner is not required. In this class you will learn how the different rhythms of a bachata song tell you to dance. You will also learn the basic bachata steps and detailed techniques to feel amazing on the dance floor!

Our Latin dance classes have moved to a monthly intensive structure. This means that students commit to 4 weeks of taking a class once a week for an hour. We strongly believe that intensive structured classes allow students, at any level, to better measure their progress, understand how they best learn Latin dance technique and feel more confident in the specific genre being taught.

two

This beginner level 2 class is for anyone who has taken our beginner level one class or for anyone with 2-4 months of bachata experience. A partner is not required. In this class you will learn specific bachata footwork and partner work that relates to each specific bachata rhythm: derecho, majao and mambo. By the end of this class you will have the knowledge to be able to recognize all three bachata rhythms while social dancing and have a mini library of bachata moves to pull from!

three+

This bachata intermediate level class is for anyone that is familiar with basic bachata hip technique, who can dance bachata to medium-paced bachata songs and who is familiar with all three bachata rhythms. You should already be able to dance alone and with a partner the following steps:

- outside turns & inside turns
